Who is This Chick?

Who are you?

I'm Lynn Wood.  I'm Lynn Daniels.  And lately, I've become Lynn Wood Daniels.  Confusing?  Allow me to explain.

When I'm writing, I use the name Lynn Daniels.  There's a long story behind that which I'd actually just sat here and typed out.  I then deleted the story because it was an outright snoozefest.  Suffice it to say I've been known as Lynn Daniels in the online writing community for many years.

But in addition to being a writer, I'm also a wife, a mom, an avid amateur photographer, and a lover of yarn craft, music and movies.  When I do all those things, I'm Lynn Wood.

In trying to simplify things a little, I've started calling myself Lynn Wood Daniels.

I have split names, yes, but only one personality.  Really.  I promise.  Regardless of what my husband says. (You just can't trust those music men.)

Now that that's out of the way...

What can you tell me about you?

Who doesn't love talking about themselves?  [raises hand]  Me, actually. But I'll give you the quick n' dirty, anyway.  I'm a wife, happily married to SoundGuy since the mid 90's.  I'm a stay-at-home mom of two, known herein as MiniMe and LittleDude.  We have two dogs who I call OldDog and LittleDog.  We all live together in a rural Northeast Georgia suburb of Atlanta (at least, the last thing I saw showed Atlanta swallowing up our little county), and go hiking up in the North Georgia mountains whenever we can.  Which, sadly, is less frequently than I'd like.

What do you write?

I started out writing romance and romantic women's fiction.  In the past couple of years, I decided to branch out.  Stretch my wings.  Try something different.  My last two manuscripts had more fantasy elements, although the one I'm currently working on is still women's fiction.

Wait, did you say photography?

Yes, I did.  Thanks a bunch for paying attention.  Photography, as it can be so very solitary, is my happy place.  I'm rarely happier than when I'm in my head with camera in hand, studying angles and perspectives and searching for my perfect shot.  Photography also gives me the instant gratification I don't get from writing, but we won't discuss that.

Landscapes are my favorite subjects, although when I joined Project 365 (you can see my Project 365 blog here), I started branching out with photography, too.  Closeups, still lifes, even people all entered my repertoire.  Landscapes are still my first love, though.

In case you're wondering, I'm a Canon shooter.

I'm getting bored...

Yeah, so am I, so I'll do this last part quickly.  In addition to writing and photography, I love to knit and crochet.  I also fill my life with music, mostly classic rock and melodic rock, and find much of today's popular music to be disposable.  Which probably explains why I rarely listen to the radio unless I have absolutely have no other choice.  Still, my life would be empty without music, so I find it wherever I can.

Are we done yet?

Yes, we are.  Except to say you can contact me via my Gmail account.  There.  Now we're done.
